Sidley Represents D2 Asset Management in Its US$280 Million Minority Investment in Unlock Technologies

Sidley is representing D2 Asset Management in its US$280 million minority investment in Unlock Technologies, a leading fintech company that provides home equity agreements to potential homeowners. The funding, which includes a US$30 million Series B equity investment in Unlock and a US$250 million capital commitment to support Unlock’s origination growth, will help to expand its product offerings, enhance its technology platform, and expand its client base nationally. D2 is an asset management firm with more than US$1 billion in assets, specializing in credit, hybrid, and special situation investments across real assets, specialty finance, and structured credit. Sidley also represented D2 when they first launched as a global investment firm.
The transaction was led by Brien M. Wassner and Daniel S. Rawner (M&A and Private Equity), and Neil E. Horner and Andrew C. Adair (Global Finance).
