Biography
MARISA LEVITT focuses her practice on complex civil litigation disputes, including multi-district litigation, white collar and enforcement actions, and criminal matters in state and federal trial courts across the United States. She has represented clients across a broad range of industries, including pharmaceuticals, financial services, and consumer products.
Marisa advises clients at all stages of the litigation process, including extensive experience in managing all phases of fact development and discovery, taking and defending depositions, presenting witnesses in court, and resolving complex disputes. Marisa has played key roles in the development of case strategy and briefed successful discovery motions in court; her experience spans the full litigation cycle. In addition, Marisa previously served as a Deputy Special Prosecutor, in Cook County, Illinois, where she played a critical role in the grand jury and trial process.
Prior to joining Sidley, Marisa served as a law clerk to The Honorable Jeremy C. Daniel of the Northern District of Illinois. She graduated cum laude from Georgetown University Law Center, where she was a notes development editor for the American Criminal Law Review and held leadership roles on the Barrister’s Council Trial Advocacy Team. Marisa graduated Phi Beta Kappa and with Bronze Tablet honors from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign with a B.A. in English and political science, summa cum laude.
