MARISA LEVITT focuses her practice on complex civil litigation disputes and criminal matters in state and federal trial courts across the United States. Marisa advises clients at all stages of the litigation process. She has experience in fact development and discovery, including drafting and responding to written discovery, preparing fact witnesses for depositions, presenting witnesses in court, resolving various complex discovery disputes, and day-to-day case management. Marisa has played key roles in the development of case strategy and briefed successful discovery motions in court.
Prior to joining Sidley, Marisa was an intern at the United States Attorney’s Office in the Northern District of Illinois, the Department of Justice Organized Crime and Gang Section, and an extern for Judge Reggie Walton in the United States District Court for the District of Columbia. She graduated cum laude from Georgetown University Law Center, where she was a notes development editor for the American Criminal Law Review and the Greenhalgh Recruitment Director for the Barrister’s Council Trial Advocacy Team. In 2017, Marisa graduated Phi Beta Kappa and with Bronze Tablet honors from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign with a B.A. in English and Political Science, summa cum laude.
