CATHERINE STEWART is a senior managing associate in Sidley’s Chicago office practicing in the Healthcare group. Catherine’s practice includes both internal and government investigations of alleged violations of the False Claims Act and the Anti-Kickback Statute, as well as price reporting obligations, compliance with the international import and export laws pertaining to medical devices and representing healthcare providers in litigation arising from whistleblower allegations. Catherine also leverages her experience in regulatory enforcement and litigation to advise clients on drafting revised policies and procedures based on investigative findings.
Catherine graduated summa cum laude and valedictorian from John Marshall Law School in 2015. Her awards and recognition include first place in the Herzog Appellate Advocacy Competition; the Arba N. Waterman Scholarship, awarded to student with highest rank after the second year of law school; and the John N. Jewett Scholarship, awarded to student with highest class rank after the first year. Catherine was also a Lead Articles Editor at the John Marshall Law Review. Prior to attending law school, Catherine earned her Masters Degree from Boston University and taught middle school and high school in New Hampshire.
During law school, Catherine externed for The Honorable Ann Claire Williams on the Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals.
