Biography

EMILY WAJERT represents employers in a variety of employment-related claims and disputes, including discrimination, retaliation, failure to accommodate, restrictive covenant, and bonus claims. She also assists clients in compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and advises clients on a wide array of issues, including transactional matters and mergers and acquisitions (both buy-side and sell-side). Emily works closely with clients in conducting workplace investigations involving allegations of sexual harassment, violation of workplace policies, and financial improprieties. Additionally, she counsels clients on COVID-19 workplace issues, including return-to-work policies, remote work operations, and handling furloughs and layoffs in accordance with local, state, and federal law.

She represents clients across various industries including media and entertainment, financial services, technology, and e-commerce.

Emily regularly publishes articles on various labor and employment trends and topics. She is a lecturer in law at USC Gould School of Law and holds a SHRM-CP certification.

  • IEQ Capital in its acquisition of EPIQ Capital Group, an approximately US$5.3 billion multi-family office and investment firm.
  • Cornerstone OnDemand Inc., backed by Clearlake Capital Group, L.P., in its definitive agreement with Skillsoft to acquire SumTotal.
