Leading Equity Capital Markets Partner James Inness Joins Sidley in London

London – Sidley is pleased to announce that James Inness has joined the firm as a partner in its Capital Markets group in London. He joins from Latham & Watkins LLP, where he was a partner and co-head of the firm’s UK equity capital markets practice.

He reunites with Capital Markets partners David Stewart and Vladimir Mikhailovsky. Mr. Stewart joined Sidley in London in April 2025, and Mr. Mikhailovsky in May 2025, also from Latham, where Mr. Stewart was Co-Chair of their London corporate practice.

Mr. Inness has a broad and diversified UK equity capital markets practice that includes advising on securities offerings in other international markets, including the EU and the U.S. exchanges. He has more than 20 years’ experience representing issuers, underwriters, and major shareholders on primary and secondary equity capital markets transactions. He has been a lead adviser to a wide range of clients listed on the London Stock Exchange in relation to securities offerings, major transactions, and corporate governance. James is recognized as a leading lawyer in both Legal 500 UK and Chambers & Partners UK for UK Equity Capital Markets.
