MATILDA DOLIN advises clients across all types of domestic and cross-border financing transactions in the real estate sector. Matilda has recent experience advising borrowers and lenders on investment and development facilities (including senior and mezzanine structures) across multiple sectors, including BTR, residential, hotels, offices, PBSA, and retail, as well as back leverage transactions and loan portfolio acquisitions.

In 2024, Matilda spent nine months on secondment at a global asset manager, where she assisted the private credit team on real estate and infrastructure investments in the UK and across Europe.

Matilda’s representative experience includes advising:

• A U.S. private equity sponsor on the refinancing of its real estate business, consisting of a real estate servicing business and a portfolio of REO assets located in Spain.
• A U.S. private equity sponsor on the financing for their acquisition of a portfolio of student accommodation located in the UK.
• A U.S. private equity sponsor on the financing for their acquisition of a portfolio of residential loan and real estate assets located in Spain, from Banco Sabadell.
• A listed real estate investment trust on due diligence and financing aspects of the acquisition of two portfolios of care home assets in the UK.
• Macquarie Asset Management on its clients’ investment in £400 million in notes related to a portfolio of commercial ground leases. In this innovative transaction, the notes are secured against a portfolio of 55 ASDA supermarket sites across the UK.
• A UK homebuilder on its £125 million sustainability-linked debt funding.
• A credit fund on several bespoke real estate-backed debt acquisition and development facilities in the UK and in Europe for student accommodation, hotels, BTR and holiday/residential park assets.
• Northwood Investors on financing aspects of the sale of 20 Gracechurch Street in London.
• Fortress Investment Group on due diligence and financing aspects of the acquisition of Punch Pubs & Co.
