Sidley counsel Adam Raviv will join a distinguished group of government and industry representatives in a timely discussion on Light Duty Vehicle Policy at the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) Government/Industry Meeting. The past several years have witnessed a dramatic increase in the variety of new light-duty vehicle offerings. Across all segments, the introduction of longer range battery electric vehicles, the expansion of plug-in hybrid and hybrid options, and the continued development of internal combustion technology have implications for consumer choice and for manufacturers who in many cases now design, build and sell a wide range of vehicle technologies. The panel will explore how manufacturers are developing strategies to be successful in this market landscape defined by a diversity of design choices, shifting regulatory and policy environment, and evolving consumer preferences.

Panelists include Joseph Bayer, Chief of NHTSA Fuel Economy Rulemaking, and representatives from the Department of Energy, Argonne National Laboratory, Hyundai, and the International Council on Clean Transportation.
