
Biography
EVAN DEAKIN focuses his practice on supporting clients during all stages of commercial litigation.
Prior to joining Sidley, Evan participated in Sidley’s Pro Bono Fellowship Program, working for the ACLU of Southern California, where he worked on litigation for the organization’s First Amendment and Democracy team.
While attending Cornell Law School, Evan participated in Cornell’s First Amendment Clinic for two years, representing civil litigants in state and federal courts. Evan also served as an executive editor for the Cornell Law Review, as a bench editor for the Moot Court Board, and as a summer intern for Judge Philip S. Gutierrez of the United States District Court for the Central District of California. Evan earned his B.A. from the University of Oxford, Pembroke College, where he studied biological sciences.
