Biography
ALISON KING focuses her practice on tax-exempt organizations and other transactional pro bono matters. Her practice includes advising nonprofit organizations on formation and governance, obtaining and maintaining federal and state tax-exempt status, and structuring charitable and social enterprise initiatives. Alison helps mission-driven organizations build sustainable operations and expand their impact.
Community Involvement
Membership & Activities
- Serves on the Board of Directors of Volunteers of Legal Service (“VOLS”), a nonprofit that provides free civil legal services to low-income New Yorkers through close partnerships with community-based organizations, law firms, and companies.
- Co-Chair of The New York City Bar Association’s Task Force on the Civil Right to Counsel.
- Member of the New York State Bar Association’s President’s Committee on Access to Justice.
