Biography
BRIAN KURPIS focuses on fund finance and represents lenders, banks, insurance companies, private credit firms, and investment funds in structuring, negotiating, and documenting bilateral and syndicated financing structures, including primary and secondary NAV loan facilities, subscription credit facilities, hybrid transactions, margin loans, GP financings, collateralized fund obligations, rated note feeders, acquisition financings, and continuation fund transactions. Brian’s practice includes structuring deals involving a variety of asset-based collateral such as limited partnership interests in private equity funds and hedge funds, shares of private companies, listed equities, and loan assets.
Brian also has extensive experience structuring complex derivatives, including negotiating and drafting trading documentation and advising on regulatory issues for hedge funds, separately managed accounts, and registered investment companies. His experience covers a diverse range of asset classes, including equity derivatives, interest rate and credit derivatives, fixed income products, securities lending, and prime brokerage financing arrangements.
Brian has recently been recognized by the Best Lawyers: Ones to Watch® in America editions for Banking and Finance Law in 2026 and 2027.
