| Project Description | Hilltribe Organics is a social enterprise which produces high value organic products, initially focused on free range and organic eggs. It is the first chicken farm in Thailand which has achieved ACT organic certification and farm to table traceability. The company supplies free inputs, such as chickens, organic feed, and farmer training, and guarantees a market for the eggs at fair prices. By transferring knowledge of organic agriculture, providing access to inputs and growing the skill sets of the farmers and their families, the company has been improving family incomes and livelihoods of farmers and creating real and lasting social change and development within the hill tribes. Hilltribe Organics currently works with 44 hilltribe families in Chiang Rai and expects to engage 100 hilltribe families by 2016, impacting approximately 725 individuals.
