The Trans-African HydroMeteorological Observatory (TAHMO) has developed an innovative sensor technology that collects local meteorological and water resource information. TAHMO is installing these weather stations across Kenya and eventually throughout sub-Saharan Africa to enable the collection of highly accurate, localized data which is important for smallholder farmers, climate monitoring, and hydro-meteorological applications. TAHMO uses local representatives to identify the best locations to place weather stations (e.g. schools, farms etc.). The data collected from the weather stations can be accessed at no cost or sold on either an exclusive or non-exclusive basis to customers. Please see more: http://tahmo.org/ |
