Sidley Wins Three Awards at the Managing IP Americas Awards 2026
For the fifth consecutive year, Sidley has been recognized as the “US Firm of the Year – Patent Disputes (Midwest)” at the Managing IP Americas Awards. Additionally, Greg Lantier has been honored as the “Patent Litigator of the Year – DC Metro,” while Amgen v. Celltrion has been recognized with an “Impact Case Award.”
Greg is a first-chair trial lawyer and appellate advocate whose practice focuses on complex patent, trade secret, copyright, breach of contract, and intellectual property (IP) licensing matters that sit at the intersection of law, technology, and business strategy.
In Amgen v. Celltrion, working closely with Amgen’s in-house team, Sidley’s Josh Fougere won a significant and precedent-setting appeal in the Third Circuit. After the district court ruled that Amgen was entitled to discovery for use in foreign patent proceedings, Celltrion tried to appeal. The Third Circuit granted Amgen’s motion to dismiss the appeal for lack of appellate jurisdiction, holding that the district court order was not yet “final” and clearing the way for Amgen to obtain important discovery.
Sidley boasts one of the most highly regarded IP litigation practices in the United States, with approximately 50 lawyers and a deep bench of trial lawyers. Handling matters for innovation-driven clients of all sizes, Sidley develops winning strategies for high-stakes IP litigation involving patents, trade secrets, copyright infringement, and trademarks.
