Sidley is representing Canva Inc., which markets itself as “the global design and publishing tool with a mission to empower everyone in the world to design anything and publish anywhere,” in an investor-led secondary transaction that was officially launched earlier this week and values the company at approximately US$42 billion. Investors in this milestone transaction included current and new institutions and some of the most well known late-stage technology investors.
Sidley’s team includes lawyers in the U.S. and UK, and was led by Michael Podolny, Graeme Waller, Jake Funk, Daniel Khalessi, and Sara Zokaei (all Emerging Companies and Venture Capital); and included Rachel Kleinberg, Jason Menzies, Jonathan Westreich, Ryan Power, and trainee solicitor Megan Cox (all Tax); and Nicholas Frey (Employee Benefits and Executive Compensation).
