ALEX KRAEMER has extensive structured finance experience, with a particular focus on asset-backed transactions and the related EU, UK, and U.S. securitization regulatory frameworks.
Alex advises sponsors, asset managers, arrangers, lead managers, and investors on structured finance transactions across a broad spectrum of asset classes (including middle-market direct lending; auto, SME, and non-performing loans; residential and commercial mortgage loans; credit card and trade receivables; as well as more esoteric asset classes, such as sports and media rights receivables), and his work encompasses a wide range of public/private financing structures (including asset-backed fund financings, master trusts, CMBS, ABCP conduits, covered bonds, whole-business securitisations, CLOs, and receivables purchase transactions; as well as synthetic securitizations and credit insurance-wrapped financings for credit-rating substitution and/or capital-relief purposes).
Alex has also advised arrangers and lead managers on numerous debt capital markets transactions (including high yield bond, corporate bond, hybrid bond, sovereign bond, and project bond issuances; regulatory capital trades; and liability management exercises).
Alex was recommended by Legal 500 UK for Securitisation (2027) and for Derivatives and Structured Products (2026). In the 2026 edition, clients praised him for his “energy, his availability, pragmatism and technical capabilities” and noted that his “contribution and leadership, in particular, is outstanding.” In the 2027 edition, Alex was commended for being "first class."
