Biography

CANDICE LIANG’s practice focuses on energy and infrastructure matters.

She obtained her J.D. from the University of Texas School of Law where she served as a staff editor for the Texas Journal of Oil, Gas, and Energy Law. During this time, Candice clerked for Chief Judge Orlando L. Garcia at the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Texas.

During law school, Candice was actively involved in pro bono initiatives such as the Texas Law Gender Affirmation Project, the Expunction Project, and the Clinic for the Arts with Texas Law Art Association. She also participated in the Children’s Rights Clinic, where she advocated in the best interest of children in court.

Prior to law school, Candice earned a B.A. in philosophy and economics from Vanderbilt University.

Candice is a native Mandarin speaker.

Representative Matters

  • Ares Management Corporation in its US$1.1 billion acquisition of Meade Pipeline Co LLC.
  • FTAI Infrastructure, Inc. in its US$1.05 billion acquisition of Wheeling Corporation and its railroad subsidiaries, Wheeling & Lake Erie Railway Company and Akron Barberton Cluster Railway Company.
  • Twin Eagle Resource Management, LLC and Twin Eagle Resource Management Canada, LLC, as borrowers, in connection with a fifth amendment and restatement of an existing revolving credit facility with MUFG, as the Administrative Agent and as the Collateral Agent, whereby the Lenders provided the Borrowers with a committed tranche of US$700 million and an uncommitted tranche of US$700 million.
  • A privately held oil and gas company as borrower under a secured term loan facility and a secured reserve-based revolving loan facility.
