Leading Private Funds Partner Ivana Rouse Joins Sidley’s Growing Global Funds Group in Houston

February 2, 2026

Houston – Sidley is pleased to announce that Ivana Rouse has joined the firm as a partner in its Investment Funds practice group in Houston. She joins from Latham & Watkins LLP, where she was a partner in their Corporate Department and member of the Investment Funds Practice.

Ms. Rouse’s broad practice focuses on working with sponsors on all aspects of formation and operation of their funds across a range of investment sectors, including oil and gas, infrastructure, real estate, venture funds, growth equity, credit, and hedge funds. She also advises on the establishment and governance of associated management companies, handling both a range of operational issues and internal sponsor arrangements, such as fund restructuring, marketing and fundraising guidance, investments (including co-investment arrangements), spin-off/stake deals, and secondary investments.

“Ivana is one of a few very highly regarded private funds lawyers with a strong client following that overlaps nicely with our existing global funds and energy platform,” said Yvette Ostolaza Chair of Sidley’s Management Committee. “Growing our global fund capabilities is strategic and an area of continued investment for the firm – Ivana’s arrival underlines that commitment.”

“Ivana is a highly talented funds lawyer with deep market experience in energy funds who will work closely with other partners in strengthening our relationships with both transactional and fund formation clients,” said Liz Fries, global leader of the firm’s Investment Funds practice, and a member of Sidley’s Executive Committee. “Ivana has strong ties to the Houston community, which is a key market for our clients, and with her entrepreneurial spirit she will be a great asset for our firm.”

Sidley has made significant additions to its Investment Funds practice in the past 18 months: Shane Goudey, leading the firm’s Venture Capital fund formation practice from Palo Alto, Mathew Eapen in Boston, leading Private Funds partner John Muno in Chicago, a market-leading three-partner Private Funds team in London consisting of Ed Gander, Stephen Fox, and Peter Boulle, and a cross-sector team in New York led by partners Cliff Cone, Michael Sabin, and Daniel Drabkin.
