Sidley Advises Sun Life Financial in Reinsurance and Asset Management Partnership With Wilton Re and Formation of Windsor Life Re

Sidley is representing Sun Life Financial Inc. (TSX: SLF) (NYSE: SLF) in its strategic reinsurance and asset management partnership with Wilton Re and the formation of Windsor Life Re, a U.S.- and Bermuda-domiciled reinsurer expected to deploy approximately US$900 million of capital. Under the terms of the agreement, Windsor Life Re will reinsure an initial in-force block of approximately US$1.7 billion from Wilton Re, with SLC Management serving as lead asset manager. At scale, the vehicle is anticipated to grow to approximately US$10 billion in assets.
