Biography
DEE DEE FISCHER represents clients in class actions, complex commercial litigation, arbitration, and antitrust disputes. She is ranked by Chambers USA in Florida Litigation: General Commercial (2024). Clients described her in Chambers USA as “confident, aggressive, and masterful” in both preparation and execution of case strategy.
Dee Dee has represented primarily large institutional clients in industries that include, technology, banking, healthcare, real estate, insurance, fintech, and private equity. Dee Dee’s experience includes disputes involving the Video Privacy Protection Act (VPPA), Racketeering Influenced and Corrupt Organizations (RICO) Act, the Lanham Act, Florida’s Deceptive and Unfair Trade Practices Act (FDUTPA), the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA), the Computer Fraud and Abuse Act (CFAA), and federal antitrust laws.
Benchmark Litigation named Dee Dee a “Litigation Star” for General Commercial (2020–2026) and for Privacy and Data Protection (2026) in Florida. In addition, she is ranked by Chambers USA for Florida Litigation: General Commercial (2024–2025). She is a 2023 Florida Super Lawyer and one of Florida Trend’s “Legal Elite in Commercial Litigation” for 2021. She previously served as chair for the Florida Bar Business Law Section’s subcommittee on Antitrust and Trade Regulation, and is a member of that Section’s task force revising the Florida Statute governing covenants not to compete. Dee Dee writes and speaks on issues relating to complex commercial litigation and is also a faculty member and instructor for the National Institute for Trial Advocacy (NITA).
Dee Dee has committed a substantial part of her practice to pro bono matters, representing disadvantaged clients in matters relating to death penalty appeals, immigration, education, veterans’ issues, guardianship, civil rights, and contract disputes.
Dee Dee earned her Bachelor of Science in Foreign Service degree at Georgetown University’s Edmund A. Walsh School of Foreign Service, where she majored in international economics. Afterward, she earned her J.D at the University of Miami School of Law, where she was a “Harvey T. Reid Scholarship” recipient and editor-in-chief of the University of Miami Law Review.
Prior to practicing law, Dee Dee served active duty in the United States Army as an intelligence analyst and Arabic linguist. She attended Georgetown as an ROTC cadet, after which she served in the United States Army Reserves.
Dee Dee divides her time between Sidley’s Miami and Singapore offices.

Dee Dee’s experience includes:
- Represents video streaming service in nationwide class actions under the Video Privacy Protection Act, prevailing on motions to dismiss and defeating class certification.
- Represented Fortune 100 technology company against claims alleging violations of the Federal RICO statute and FDUTPA, obtaining a dismissal with prejudice on the first motion to dismiss.
- Represented proprietary institutional investor database and obtained summary judgment of dismissal on plaintiff’s claims-in-chief, and tried to favorable verdict client’s counterclaims against a competitor under the Computer Fraud and Abuse Act.
- Tried to favorable verdict a case representing 32 fashion models suing an on-premises sex club for false advertising and false endorsement under the Lanham Act after the club used the models’ images without their authorization as advertisements to promote the club’s sex parties.
- Represented numerous national and global companies in nationwide TCPA and VPPA class actions.
- Defended major health insurer in cases challenging out-of-network reimbursement rates for anesthesia and emergency services.
- Defended healthcare company against claims of tortious interference associated with the hiring of a high level employee.
- Represented a large tech company in a nationwide class action alleging product liability claims and violations of the Florida Deceptive and Unfair Trade Practices Act.
- Represented a healthcare company in successive nationwide class actions brought under the TCPA.
- Represented a medical device manufacturer as national counsel in product liability multi-district litigation.
- Defended officers and directors in an adversary proceeding alleging breach of fiduciary duty, aiding and abetting, improper dividend claims, and other corporate governance breaches.
- Represented an online travel company in a dispute with its former media buying agent, asserting claims for fraud, breach of fiduciary duty, and breach of contract.
- Represented former directors of a music and video retailer against claims for breach of fiduciary duty and authorization of an illegal dividend.
- Represented officers and directors of a private equity company against claims that management fees and expenses paid by a portfolio company constituted preferential and fraudulent transfers.
- Represented homebuilder and related entities in litigation and arbitration arising from allegations of construction defects, indoor air quality problems, mold, and Chinese drywall.
- Defended a member-owned golf club against consumer protection lawsuits brought by members and former members alleging unfair trade practices, breach of fiduciary duty, antitrust violations, and fraud.
- Defended physician management group against claims for misappropriation of trade secrets and violation of restrictive covenants.
- Represented Professional Employer Organization (“PEO”) in litigation against workers compensation insurance carrier for breach of contract and bad faith insurance practices.
