
Biography
DANIEL LINDSEY is the head of the firm's Global Finance practice in Hong Kong and Singapore.
Daniel works closely with Sidley’s M&A and Private Equity group acting for private equity sponsors and private credit providers, as well as other borrower and lender clients on financings across the Asia-Pacific region.
Daniel has extensive experience on a wide range of debt finance transactions, with a particular focus on leveraged and acquisition financing transactions, hybrid investments, and fund-level financings. His experience also extends to debt restructurings, specialist credit opportunities, real estate financings, margin loans, and minority and back-leverage financings.
Having been based in Asia (Beijing, Hong Kong, and Singapore) since moving from London in 2012, Daniel has worked on deals across the region, including India, Singapore, Hong Kong, P.R.C., Indonesia, Cambodia, and Malaysia. He is qualified in England and Hong Kong.

- On the leveraged financing for its bid to acquire Eu Yan Sang, one of the leading traditional Chinese medicine retailers and manufacturers in Asia.
- The financial adviser for a consortium led by Hillhouse Capital and comprising CDH and certain management in its US$6.8 billion privatization of Belle International Holdings Limited, a major Chinese manufacturer, distributor, and retailer of footwear and sportswear, by way of a scheme of arrangement.

- On its financing arrangements in connection with its investment in Ziwi, a New Zealand-based ultra-premium pet food manufacturer and global exporter.

- The arrangers on a US$850 million leveraged term facility and US$450 million subordinated limited recourse vendor loan note to finance the US$3 billion leveraged buyout of U.S.-listed Chinese online games developer and operator Giant Interactive Group by a consortium led by Baring Private Equity Asia, CDH, and Hony Capital.
- The financial adviser for CVC Capital Partners in connection with the US$1.1 billion privatization of Nirvana Asia, a market leading bereavement care provider, by way of a scheme of arrangement.

- The financial adviser in the US$6.3 billion pre-conditional voluntary general offer by COSCO Shipping Holdings Co., Ltd. and Shanghai International Port (Group) Co., Ltd. to acquire all the shares of Orient Overseas (International) Limited.
- East West Bank on the financing in connection with the acquisition by Lunar Capital of a majority stake in The Women's Clinic Group.

- Geo Energy Resources Limited (Geo Energy) on its US$220 million financing from PT Bank Mandiri, to be applied toward the funding of certain acquisitions, working capital, and other capital expenditure requirements. Geo Energy is a major Indonesian coal producer listed on the mainboard of the Singapore Exchange (SGX) and principally engaged in operating coal mines, coal production, and coal sales throughout Asia.
- Ninja Van Group, a Singapore unicorn and Southeast Asia's leading tech enabled logistics organization, on a three-year committed US$50 million revolving credit facility from HSBC.
- PT TBS Energi Utama Tbk on its US$15 million green financing loan from Asian Development Bank, PT Bank DBS Indonesia, and the Australian Climate Finance Partnership to enhance sustainable transportation in Indonesia by increasing the supply of electric motorcycles and the number of battery swapping stations.
- A Korean education business on its financings from a direct lender.
- A subsidiary of Shandong Weigao Group Medical Polymer Company Limited on a CNH term loan facility.
- PT Mineral Industri Indonesia (Persero) (MIND ID), Indonesia's state-owned mining holding company, on syndicated facilities.
- Amartha Nusantara Raya, a Jakarta-based microfinance technology platform, on a financing by the U.S. International Development Finance Corporation, which invests in development projects in lower and middle-income countries.
