On April 28, Sidley Partner Lisa Miller will participate in a panel on “The New Whistleblower Landscape – What’s Next for Internal & External Reporting?” at the three-day National Compliance Week conference. Lisa and her co-panelists will discuss:
- The current state of whistleblower reporting – how are DOJ, SEC, and other agencies prioritizing whistleblower cases, and what types of reports are increasing?
- Internal vs. external reporting: what’s changing? – Will employees rely more on internal reporting, or will government award programs continue to drive external disclosures?
- Emerging risks and enforcement trends - what new areas (FCPA, cybersecurity, human trafficking, AI compliance, immigration and trade fraud, procurement fraud, tariffs, etc.) are gaining attention under the new administration?
- Leveraging data for proactive compliance – how hotline benchmarking data and early 2025 trends can help organizations predict and respond to internal reporting and external whistleblower activity.
- What’s next? – A look ahead at how whistleblowing and corporate investigations may evolve in the coming years.
On April 29, Sidley Partner Kenneth Polite will lead the keynote presentation on “Compliance, Now More Than Ever: Leading with Integrity When No One is Watching” where he will share his insights on what companies should be considering for their compliance programs during an evolving regulatory and enforcement landscape.
During the three-day conference, a faculty of experienced compliance, ethics, legal, and audit professionals will benchmark best practices and latest tactics and strategies to enhance the compliance programs at the companies of the over 500 attendees.
