Sidley lawyers Nicolas Lockhart and Katherine Connolly recently appeared on the Oxford Institute for Energy Studies’ Podcast to discuss their June publication in the Oxford Energy Forum titled “A Tale of Two Carbon Pricing Schemes for Aviation: The Interplay Between the EU/UK ETS and CORSIA.” During their appearance, they highlighted the differences between the EU’s Emission Trading System (ETS) and the International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO) Carbon Offsetting and Reduction Scheme for International Aviation (CORSIA). They also discussed how these differing approaches may impact the aviation industry’s push to become more carbon neutral.
