Kristin Teager Named a Law360 FinTech Rising Star for 2026

Sidley partner Kristin Teager has been named a 2026 Law360 FinTech Rising Star, recognizing her work on significant and innovative matters at the intersection of payments, financial services, and technology. The annual Rising Stars series honors leading attorneys under age 40 whose accomplishments distinguish them within their areas of practice.

Among the matters highlighted by Law360 is Kristin’s representation of Apple in its agreement for JPMorgan Chase to become the new issuer of Apple Card, a complex transaction expected to transition more than US$20 billion in card balances to Chase’s platform. Kristin has advised Apple on payments matters since early in her tenure at Sidley, including in connection with the original launch of Apple Card in 2019.

Kristin has also played a significant role advising PayPal on payments, regulatory, and digital asset matters. Her work has included advising on the launch and expansion of PayPal’s cryptocurrency offerings, commercial arrangements with digital asset partners, and initiatives involving PayPal USD (PYUSD), including its stablecoin rewards program for PayPal and Venmo users.

Kristin has received additional recognition for her work in 2026: Chambers USA recognizes her in Consumer Finance (Compliance), while the Chambers FinTech guide recognizes her in Blockchain & Cryptocurrencies. Sidley’s Banking, Payments and Fintech practice is ranked Band 1 by Chambers USA in both categories, and its Fintech, Payments, and Blockchain practices are ranked Band 1 by Chambers FinTech for 2026.
