Sidley Represents Investor in Control Investment in Minnesota Timberwolves and Lynx

Sidley represented an investor in the consortium led by Alex Rodriguez and Marc Lore in its control investment in the NBA’s Minnesota Timberwolves and WNBA’s Lynx. Lore and Rodriguez will serve as co-chairmen for the teams: Lore assuming the role of Timberwolves Governor and Rodriguez as Alternative Governor; Rodriguez serving as Lynx Governor and Lore as Alternative Governor.

This investment, which has been approved by the NBA’s Board of Governors, marks the finale to the gradual transfer of ownership from longtime General Partner Glen Taylor.

The Sidley team was led by Chuck Baker and Axel Miranda with support from Eric Geffner, Dylan Sherwyn (Entertainment, Sports and Media), Rachel Kleinberg, and Jonathan Westreich (Tax).
