Dina M.P. Kang

DINA KANG focuses her practice on advising clients on transactional matters related to life sciences and technology, including licensing, mergers and acquisitions, and other commercial agreements. Prior to joining Sidley, she was a corporate and securities associate at another international law firm.

Dina earned her J.D. from Columbia Law School, where she was a Harlan Fiske Stone Scholar. While in law school, she was a legal intern for both Microsoft and Marvel Entertainment as well as a participant in Columbia’s Copyright Dispute Resolution externship. Dina also worked as a search engine optimization analyst for TripAdvisor before law school. She earned her B.A. in classics from Harvard University, where she was a recipient of the Classics Department Prize. 

• Represented Ocuphire Pharma, Inc. (NASDAQ:OCUP), a clinical-stage ophthalmic biopharmaceutical company focused on developing and commercializing therapies for the treatment of patients with retinal and refractive eye disorders, in an all-stock acquisition of Opus Genetics, Inc., a clinical-stage gene therapy company for inherited retinal diseases (IRDs).
• Represented Carlin Consumer Health (Carlin) in its acquisition of PENETREX (Penetrex), a joint and muscle care consumer brand, from Wellbeam Consumer Health.
• Representing Clearlake Capital Group, L.P. and Francisco Partners, two global private equity firms, in their acquisition of Software Integrity Group (“SIG”) from Synopsys, Inc. (NASDAQ: SNPS) for total consideration of up to US$2.1 billion. 
• Representing Rexel USA, Inc. in its acquisition of Talley, Inc., a distributor of wireless infrastructure products, services, and solutions in the U.S.
