Biography

LESLIE KUHN-THAYER is pro bono counsel in the firm’s Chicago office. Her practice primarily focuses on coordinating the firm’s prisoners’ civil rights cases. These cases include the representation of plaintiffs whose constitutional rights are violated during arrest or while being detained in jails by authorities acting under the color of law, as well as representing prisoners who have been deprived medical care, held in inhumane conditions or subjected to violence or other constitutional violations.

Leslie is a former litigation associate in the Products Liability group. She also served as a law clerk to Judge Marvin E. Aspen of the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois and to Chief Judge William C. Griesbach of the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Wisconsin.

Community Involvement

Membership & Activities

Leslie serves on the Board of Directors for the Uptown People’s Law Center, a non-profit organization that advocates for prisoners, tenants and disabled people denied public benefits. She is an active member of the Seventh Circuit Bar Association’s Diversity & Inclusion Committee and the Association of Pro Bono Counsel. Leslie also volunteers with Legal Prep Charter Academy’s attorney mentor program.
