Biography

JAMIE SNYDER is the co-head of Sidley’s Chicago Global Finance group and co-leader of the firm’s Private Credit and Syndicated Finance practice. He focuses on helping his clients structure and execute on complex debt financing transactions, including corporate lending facilities, leveraged acquisition financings and other specialty debt investments.

Jamie has been recognized in the 2014–2025 editions of Chambers USA for Illinois Banking & Finance. He is also recommended by Legal 500 United States for Commercial Lending: Advice to Direct Lenders/Private Credit (2025).

He represents a diverse collection of prominent clients that include money-center banks, asset managers, BDCs, credit funds, private equity firms, hedge funds and other investors in connection with senior secured and unsecured credit facilities, unitranche financings, first lien and second lien transactions, mezzanine and subordinated financings, and cash flow as well as asset based transactions. Jamie also has extensive experience representing lenders in connection with debtor-in-possession financings, bankruptcy exit facilities, workouts and restructurings. His practice covers a broad range of deal sizes, from bi-lateral domestic financings for middle market companies to broadly-syndicated credit facilities for publicly traded companies with extensive cross-border operations.

Jamie serves as a member of the Board of Directors of Career Transitions Center of Chicago, a non-profit organization providing professional assistance to individuals in career and employment transition.

  • The private credit arm of a global asset manager as lead arranger and administrative agent in connection with a US$320 million multi-currency cross-border first lien credit facility to support the acquisition of a technology company by a private equity firm.
  • A Canadian multinational bank as lead arranger and administrative agent in connection with a US$20 million multi-currency cross-border asset based credit facility to support the acquisition of an equipment manufacturer by a private equity firm.
  • One of the largest banks in North America as lead arranger and administrative agent in connection with a US$1.25 billion credit facility for a publicly traded manufacturer of home fixtures and hardware.
