
Biography
KATHERINE SURMA focuses her practice on complex commercial litigation, securities litigation, ERISA litigation, and appellate litigation. She has experience drafting various pleadings in state and federal court, researching and drafting a wide variety of procedural and dispositive motions, drafting discovery, and arguing discovery issues in federal court.
Katherine clerked for The Honorable Michael B. Brennan of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit.
Katherine earned her J.D. from the Yale Law School, where she served as an editor-in-chief of the Yale Journal on Regulation. She earned her B.A. from The University of Chicago, majoring in political science and law, letters, and society, and was inducted into Phi Beta Kappa. Katherine earned her M.A. in social sciences from The University of Chicago.
