Sidley Investment Funds partners Daniel Spies and Leonard Ng will be featured moderators on May 13 at the MFA Legal & Compliance 2026 Conference. This premier legal and compliance forum provides general counsels, chief compliance officers, and regulatory affairs executives the insights needed to navigate the industry’s ongoing transformation.
Daniel’s breakout session, “Tokenization at Scale: Institutional Use Cases and Controls,” (1:40 pm - 2:30 pm) will explore the growing institutional adoption of tokenization, including key considerations around issuer onboarding, Know-Your-Customer (KYC)/Anti-Money Laundering (AML) compliance, and the development of secondary market liquidity. The panel will also examine evolving market infrastructure, such as on- and off-chain reconciliation and transfer agency implications, as well as how market participants are assessing the impact of tokenization on settlement efficiency, capital mobility, and transparency. The session will feature speakers from Depository Trust and Clearing Corporation.
Leonard’s session, “Examining International Regulatory Priorities in a Shifting Global Order,” (4:20 pm - 4:55 pm) will address recent developments in cross-border regulation and global regulatory coordination, with a focus on how asset managers can position themselves to meet evolving expectations across jurisdictions. Additionally, the discussion will highlight increasing regulatory scrutiny of non-bank leverage in light of recent Financial Stability Board assessments and will consider the implications for private funds and alternative asset managers. The session will feature speakers from Lord Abbett, MFA, and Rokos Capital Management.
