Sidley Named a “Pro Bono Innovator” by Bloomberg
Sidley has been named a 2025 “Pro Bono Innovator” by Bloomberg. Each year, Bloomberg recognizes the “law firms and other legal service providers that go above and beyond in delivering pro bono legal services,” and through which their innovative approach and successful outcomes have delivered pro bono support that affected broad societal impact.
Bloomberg has specifically highlighted Sidley’s contributions in a class action victory in Steward v. Young for thousands of Texans with intellectual and developmental disabilities who have been in segregated nursing facilities without mandated services or opportunities for community living, as well as its role in securing a landmark victory in the U.S. Supreme Court for Corporal Simon Soto and a class of more than 9,000 veterans who were denied Combat-Related Special Compensation benefits.
In connection with the recognition, Bloomberg Law published an in-depth Q&A with Sidley lawyers exploring the firm’s innovative strategies, collaborative model, and the far-reaching impact of its pro bono matters.
Since Sidley’s founding in 1866, the firm has cultivated a tradition of, and commitment to, pro bono service. Sidley lawyers and staff devoted more than 165,000 hours last year to serving those most in need.
