Sidley represented Preservation Capital Partners (PCP) in connection with the sale of a majority stake in HBC Group, a leading European insurance brokerage platform, to Bridgepoint, a major international private equity firm.
Headquartered in Hamburg, Hanseatic Broking Center (HBC) is one of the fastest-growing insurance distribution groups in Europe, serving over 40,000 customers through a broad network of brokers and agents across Germany and neighboring markets. Under PCP’s ownership, HBC has experienced rapid growth through a combination of organic initiatives and strategic acquisitions, evolving into a technology-enabled, multi-brand group.
The partnership with Bridgepoint marks a significant next step in HBC’s development, with continued focus on expansion, digitization, and the integration of additional brokerage businesses. The transaction is subject to customary regulatory approvals and is expected to close later in 2025.
The Sidley team was led by Private Equity partner Björn Holland and senior managing associate Jennifer Limmer. The wider team included Philipp Barlet, Laura Persin, Sarah Braun, Andrew N. Cebula, Nicole Janssen, and Marcus Klie (Private Equity/M&A); Jörg Fischer and Corinna Linhardt (Tax); Fergus O’Domhnaill and Phil Cerny (Global Finance).
