Fatima Butt

FATIMA BUTT advises on AI, intellectual property, and strategic technology transactions. Her practice spans IP licensing and ownership, the technology and IP aspects of M&A and carve-outs, including separation arrangements and transitional services, and other commercial arrangements. She has particular experience in data center and digital infrastructure matters, advising on user arrangements for data center operators and customers, including colocation MSAs, GPU-as-a-Service and GPU-compute arrangements. Fatima works across sectors, helping clients structure complex technology arrangements and manage commercial, technology and IP-related risk.

Fatima co-authored the “UK Law and Practice” chapter in the Chambers AI & Intellectual Property 2026 Global Practice Guide. In 2020, she spent 12 months on secondment to the UK legal team at a leading global technology company and in 2019, she spent six months on secondment to the UK technology and data team at a global energy provider.
