ASH NAGDEV is counsel in Sidley’s office in Palo Alto and a member of the firm’s Privacy and Cybersecurity practice. An IAPP-certified information privacy professional in the U.S. (CIPP/US), he regularly blogs and delivers presentations regarding emerging domestic privacy law, such as novel privacy and cybersecurity issues pertaining to artificial intelligence (AI). Ash was recently selected to serve on Law360’s Privacy and Cybersecurity Editorial Board. Ash is a also member of Sidley’s Consumer Privacy Litigation Task Force, a dedicated group of lawyers focusing specifically on consumer litigation and regulatory enforcement actions involving privacy and cybersecurity. Ash also has a decade of experience litigating patent, copyright, trade secret, and contract matters in federal and state courts.
Ash was named a “Rising Star” in the 2013-2020 editions of Super Lawyers. Prior to entering the legal profession, he was a software engineer at Symantec Corporation working on consumer (Norton Security products) and enterprise-level software security products. Ash is a registered United States Patent Attorney. He earned his J.D. from Northwestern School of Law and a B.S. in computer science from UCLA. While at UCLA, Ash specialized his computer science degree in artificial intelligence.
