Biography

JULEA LIPIZ advises clients on a wide range of regulatory and compliance matters affecting pharmaceuticals, biological products, medical devices, food, cosmetics, dietary supplements, and animal pharmaceuticals and biological products. Her work covers a range of FDA-regulated products and spans the product lifecycle, including clinical development programs and postmarket compliance matters. 

Julea represents companies in connection with government enforcement actions and internal investigations and counsels clients on their FDA engagement strategies. She provides regulatory support on transactional and corporate matters involving companies across the life sciences supply chain, including clinical-stage companies and manufacturers of approved products. Julea also provides regulatory support for due diligence reviews, drafting transactional documents, and securities filings.

Julea earned her J.D. from the University of California, Berkeley, School of Law where she served as a senior student publication editor for the Berkeley Technology Law Journal and an associate editor of the Berkeley Journal of Employment and Labor Law. She earned a B.S. in Molecular and Cellular Biology, summa cum laude, and a B.A. in Political Science, summa cum laude and with honors, from the University of Arizona. While at the University of Arizona, Julea worked at Tech Launch Arizona and as a research assistant in the Davis Lab where she analyzed glycoprotein trafficking at the Blood Brain Barrier.

Community Involvement

Pro Bono

Julea maintains an active pro bono practice. She regularly participates in the District of Columbia Bar’s Landlord Tenant Resource Center, which provides free legal information to unrepresented landlords and tenants and represents clients on education-related issues. Julea is also involved in the firm’s Emerging Enterprises Pro Bono Program, which provides free legal support to eligible small- and medium-sized for-profit enterprises and market-focused NGOs and non-profits that have a clear social impact in developing countries across Africa, Asia, Central and South America, and the Caribbean.
