Export Restrictions on Personal Protective Equipment: Recent U.S. and EU Government Actions in Response to the COVID-19 Outbreak

April 9, 2020
On April 7, 2020, the United States imposed export restrictions on certain personal protection equipment (PPE) in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. This action followed the March 14 measures taken by the European Union (EU) imposing similar restrictions. Companies around the world that produce and supply PPE should monitor these developments closely as they work to satisfy the tremendous global need for lifesaving PPE while ensuring compliance with fast-changing laws and regulations.
