IRS Releases CARES Act Guidance Relating to Net Operating Losses and Partnerships

The U.S. Internal Revenue Service (IRS) has issued several pieces of guidance related to the Coronavirus Aid, Relief and Economic Security Act (CARES Act), including guidance relating to the carryback of net operating losses (NOLs) and the extent to which partnerships can file amended returns reflecting changes in law made by the CARES Act.
