Sidley Advises Senior Lenders on nLighten’s Senior Secured Financing

Sidley advised the senior lender group in connection with the senior secured financing of nLighten, a pan-European data center platform backed by I Squared Capital, to fund its expansion across the UK.

The financing facilities are secured against a ringfenced portfolio of edge colocation data centers at nine strategic locations in the UK, totalling 10 MW and with planning and power secured to expand to more than 20 MW.

nLighten provides customers and partners with access to low latency and proximity to end users across Europe, with data centers designed to meet the increasing demand for faster and more reliable data processing and storage. The European platform has more than 30 data centers across seven countries.

This comes at a time of strong and sustained demand for regional data center capacity, an area in which Sidley is regularly advising on forefront transactions.

The cross-practice Sidley team was led by Global Finance partner Ben Thompson in London.
