Sidley Represents Chess.com in the Beta Launch of Gambit.com

Sidley represented Chess.com in the launch of Gambit.com, a new gaming platform currently in beta that brings Chess.com’s industry-leading approach to game-based learning to poker for the first time. Gambit enables players to learn and compete without real money at stake, filling a gap in a market where other major poker platforms profit from beginners’ losses. Sidley provided regulatory counsel in connection with the launch, advising on U.S. federal and state gaming laws, EU and UK data privacy compliance, cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, and intellectual property considerations.

The Sidley team was led by Nima Mohebbi and Daniel Hay, and included Russell Weiss, Sheri Porath Rockwell, Elisabetta Righini, Francesca Blythe and Ana Pajar Blinder.
