Jerome Hughes

JEROME HUGHES advises private equity sponsors, portfolio companies, and public and private companies on mergers and acquisitions, private equity transactions, investments, divestitures, joint ventures, and corporate governance matters.

Jerome’s legal practice is informed by a strong business and technology background. Before entering the legal profession, he held leadership and operational roles at a global financial institution and worked in technology-focused positions within the private wealth management industry. He also earned an M.B.A. from the University of Virginia Darden School of Business, providing valuable insight into the strategic, operational, and financial considerations that shape complex transactions.

Jerome received his J.D. from Duke University School of Law in 2020, where he was awarded the Duke Law Dean’s Scholarship. He earned his M.B.A. from the University of Virginia Darden School of Business as a recipient of the Consortium MBA Scholarship and holds a B.S. in computer science from the University of North Carolina at Asheville.

While attending Duke University School of Law, Jerome served as technical editor of the Duke Law & Technology Review and online editor of the Alaska Law Review. He also participated in Duke Law’s Start-Up Ventures Clinic, advising emerging companies on a range of legal and business issues.
