Biography

MORGAN JENKINS advises on a wide range of real estate finance, structured finance, and general finance matters. 

Morgan trained and qualified as a solicitor in Sidley’s office in London, where he gained experience with the firm’s Real Estate, Financial Services Regulatory, Global Finance, and M&A/Private Equity practices. 

 

Experience

Representative Matters

Morgan’s recent experience includes advising:

  • A global pre-eminent listed real estate investment trust on c. £130 million of financing, in relation to a portfolio of healthcare real estate assets.
  • CVC Credit Partners as investment manager on the reset of the €452 million Cordatus VIII CLO.
  • Spire Partners LLP (named “European CLO Manager of the Year 2017” by GlobalCapital, “Best Boutique CLO Manager” in 2017 and 2018 by CreditFlux, “Best European CLO Manager” and “Manager of the Year” in 2019 by Creditflux, and GlobalCapital and “CLO Manager of the Year” in 2019 by Alt Credit Intelligence) as investment manager to the €402 million Aurium CLO VII, the reset of the €448 million Aurium CLO V and the reset and upsize of the €425 million Aurium CLO VI.
  • Permira Credit Managers Group as investment manager to the €410 million Providus CLO V, the refinancing of the €361 million Providus CLO II and the reset and upsize of the €412 million Providus CLO IV.
  • A market-leading specialist property investment fund on a number of complex and significant UK debt finance investments and refinancings. The individual investments included student housing, senior healthcare facilities, mixed-use real estate development, and property HMOs valued at approximately £285 million.
  • A global alternative asset management firm and a financial institution in respect of the refinancing and buy-out of approximately £50 million in mezzanine loans secured against several retail sites in England and Scotland.

Community Involvement

Pro Bono

Morgan is involved in a wide range of pro bono work, including most recently challenges to Personal Independence Payment decisions before the Disability Benefits Tribunal in London.

Historically, Morgan has also assisted in providing pro bono advice to a variety of charities that are documenting their occupation of premises or relocation to new premises.
