
Biography
TYLER VANDERMOLEN represents clients in their most important litigation matters, with a particular focus on trial work and preparing cases for trial. He has substantial experience preparing corporate and expert witnesses for trial, developing direct and cross-examinations, arguing pretrial motions, and developing case strategy. Tyler has substantial experience preparing corporate witnesses for high-stakes deposition and trial testimony. In particular, he has worked with multiple company witnesses who serve as hybrid fact and expert witnesses due to the scientific or technical nature of their jobs.
Tyler earned his J.D., cum laude, from the University of Michigan Law School where he served as an online content editor for the Michigan Journal of International Law. He received his undergraduate degree, magna cum laude, from Northwestern University, where he focused on national security issues.
Experience
Representative Matters
- Represented Novo Nordisk as part of the team that secured the first complete defense verdict for a pharmaceutical company in a False Claims Act jury trial. Sidley secured a unanimous verdict in less than four hours after a three-week trial in the Western District of Washington. Tyler’s role included helping prepare company witnesses for trial testimony.
- Represented herbicide manufacturer Monsanto in multiple product liability trials in which plaintiffs alleged that Roundup caused their non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma. Tyler helped achieve complete defense victories in the Philadelphia Court of Common Pleas and Cook County, Illinois, as well as a mid-trial dismissal in California state court. In these matters, Tyler has helped prepare corporate and expert witnesses, assisted with trial examinations, argued and prepared pretrial motions, and supported trial strategy.
- Served on a trial team in a consolidated mass tort lawsuit against Bayer subsidiary Monsanto Company in Washington state court involving alleged injuries from PCB exposure.

- Tyler represented a federal death row inmate in post-conviction proceedings in the Eastern District of Virginia.
