Most recently, The Texas Lawbook’s M&A Corporate Deal Tracker ranked Sidley #2 in overall deal count for Texas transactions, with 151 deals completed in 2022, up from 138 deals in 2021. By lawyer headcount, that is more deals per lawyer than any other firm in Texas. Sidley’s commitment to pro bono representation and involvement in the community is a longstanding Texas tradition. Last year, Dallas lawyers dedicated more than 4,900 hours to more than 160 pro bono matters serving those without access to legal services. We are engaged in matters ranging from gaining access for veterans to military and VA benefits to protecting constitutional rights and civil liberties. Sidley provides diverse pro bono services to address the critical legal needs of the firm’s neighbors in the Dallas community, and we value the recognition received in response to our pro bono activities. Recently, the Dallas office was honored by the State Bar of Texas at the 2022 Pro Bono Excellence Awards by receiving the W. Frank Newton Award which recognizes Sidley’s long-standing partnership with the Dallas Volunteer Attorney Program as well as the firm’s Veterans Advocacy Program.

The Dallas office is co-managed by Angela Zambrano and Scott Parel. Angela co-leads the firm’s Commercial Litigation and Disputes group and leads the Dallas litigation group, and Scott is a co-leader of the firm’s Private Equity practice. Together, they manage one of Sidley’s fastest growing offices and continue to focus on providing the highest quality legal advice and talent across wide-ranging legal services and industries.

Yvette Ostolaza, one of the country’s leading business litigators, is Sidley’s Management Committee chair, an Executive Committee member and resident of the Dallas office. She officially took the helm in May 2022 after managing the Dallas office for eight years. Yvette is the first-ever female and Latina chair and the first Texas-based partner to lead the firm.
