Mahalia Doughty Elected as a Fellow by the Board of the Texas Bar Foundation
April 22, 2026
The Texas Bar Foundation has honored Sidley partner Mahalia Doughty by naming her to its 2026 Class of Fellows.
Election to the Fellows is one of the highest honors that can be bestowed upon a member of the State Bar of Texas, with only the top one-third of one percent selected each year for their professional achievements and commitment to improving the justice system throughout the state. Nomination is based on outstanding contributions to the legal profession, as well as commitment to the Texas community.
In response to her election, Mahalia noted, “I’m honored to be joining such a prestigious group of practitioners across Texas and grateful for this recognition. The Foundation’s work has a tangible impact on communities across Texas, and I look forward to supporting its mission and giving back to the profession.”
Mahalia is a Houston-based partner in Sidley’s Energy, Transportation, and Infrastructure group. She has extensive experience representing financial institutions, private equity funds, and public and private companies in a wide variety of financing transactions in both the United States and abroad, with a concentration on acquisition financing, investment-grade lending, asset-based lending (including reserve-based lending for oil and gas transactions), and general working capital facilities.
