PETER BRULAND focuses on appellate advocacy and critical motions. He has drafted certiorari- and merits-stage briefs before the Supreme Court, as well as briefs before federal and state appellate and trial courts across the country. His practice spans an array of legal issues, including statutory interpretation, administrative law, constitutional law, securities, tax, products liability, and intellectual property. Peter also maintains an active pro bono practice, representing clients in education, disability, and criminal appeals.
Peter earned his J.D., magna cum laude, from Harvard Law School and his LL.M., with first-class honours, from the University of Cambridge, where he was editor-in-chief of the Cambridge Law Review.
Before joining Sidley, Peter clerked for Judge A. Raymond Randolph of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit. He was also an associate in the Supreme Court and appellate practice of another global law firm.
