HERSCHEL HAMNER’s practice focuses on debt financings in the energy and infrastructure industries. He regularly represents borrowers and lenders in working capital facilities, acquisition financings, development capital facilities and warehouse financings—with a significant portion of his practice devoted to representing private credit lenders in highly structured transactions. Herschel has extensive experience working on financings for companies in the conventional energy space, and he has handled several complex energy transition and renewables matters in recent years.
Herschel represents clients in secured and unsecured credit facilities and note purchase facilities, including cash flow loans, reserve-based lending transactions, asset-based lending transactions, project development portfolio financings, unitranche financings, first lien/second lien transactions, mezzanine financings and bridge loans, as well as workouts and restructurings. On the lender side, he regularly counsels non-bank lenders in direct lending transactions and commercial banks in syndicated credit facilities. On the borrower side, he advises public companies, private equity funds, sponsor-backed portfolio companies and other privately held entities in a wide range of debt financings.
Herschel is a co-leader of Sidley’s Energy and Infrastructure practice and is a member of the firm’s Global Finance team.
