Sidley Represented Lenders on Spearmint Energy’s US$325 Million Financing
Sidley represented Nuveen Energy Infrastructure Credit, Elda River Capital Management, Harrison Street Asset Management, and Aiga Capital Partners in connection with a US$325 million expanded debt facility provided to Spearmint Energy (Spearmint), a next-generation energy company focused on developing, owning, operating, and optimizing battery energy storage systems to reduce grid volatility and increase system resiliency.
The debt facility strengthens Spearmint’s capital base and supports the advancement of its operating portfolio — including the Tierra Seca, Seven Flags, and Revolution projects — as well as its development pipeline across the United States. Spearmint currently operates 350 MW/700 MWh in ERCOT, with an additional 300 MW/600 MWh under construction.
The Sidley team was led by Herschel Hamner and Matthew Walker with assistance from Katy Yu, Candice Liang, Chris Folmsbee, Samantha Seley, and Angela Richards.
