RARA KANG is a senior managing associate in Sidley’s Los Angeles office and is a member of the Commercial Litigation and Disputes and the Consumer Class Actions practices. Her practice focuses on commercial litigation and disputes in a wide range of industries including energy, oil and gas, athletic apparel and food. Rara’s experience includes representing companies in consumer fraud litigation involving claims of false labeling and advertising. She also has experience representing clients in disputes involving the California Environmental Quality Act and the Health & Safety Code.
Prior to joining Sidley, Rara was a judicial intern for the Honorable Paul L. Friedman for the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia. She was also a legal intern at the Department of Justice in the Criminal Fraud Section, Securities and Financial Fraud Unit. Rara earned her J.D. from the Georgetown University Law Center, cum laude, where she was a Law Fellow for the first year Legal Research and Writing course and senior executive editor of the Georgetown Journal of Legal Ethics. She received her B.A., magna cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa, in political science and in communication studies from the University of California, Los Angeles.
