Biography

TY KENNINGTON focuses his practice on energy and infrastructure matters.

Ty obtained his J.D. from the University of Texas School of Law, where he served as an associate editor on the Texas Law Review. During this time, he participated in the Gender Affirmation Project, the Driver’s License Recovery Program, and the Alternatives to Guardianship Clinic, garnering significant pro bono experience before graduation.

Prior to law school, Ty graduated with honors from Texas A&M University, where he received a B.S. in economics.

Community Involvement

Pro Bono

Ty has handled the following matters pro bono: 

  • Individuals seeking orders to change their designated gender on government documents.
  • An individual seeking reinstatement of his driver’s license.
  • Families seeking alternatives to guardianship for family members with a limited decision-making capacity.

The above matters were handled prior to joining Sidley.
