Biography
JESSICA LOWE’s practice focuses on advising fund sponsors on the structuring, marketing, fundraising, and operation of their investment funds, with an emphasis on private equity, credit, real estate, and venture capital. In addition to working closely with fund sponsors on their fund formations, co-investments, continuation funds, separately managed accounts, and other capital raising platforms, Jessica advises fund sponsors on their internal matters, including carried interest schemes, general governance matters, and associated UK and European regulatory matters.
Jessica also represents prominent institutional investors, including state pension funds and sovereign wealth funds, in connection with their investments in private investment funds. She advises on co-investments, complex secondary transactions (including strip sales and continuation vehicles), and acquisitions of interests in fund sponsors (including GP stakes transactions.) Jessica has broad experience across fund jurisdictions, including the UK, Luxembourg, and the Channel Islands.
Prior to joining Sidley, Jessica practiced in the London office of an international law firm. During this time, she spent nearly a year on secondment to a leading private equity firm headquartered in Boston, where she was responsible for handling legal matters relating to the firm’s capital raising activities, including the raising of a US$17 billion private equity fund. Jessica also served as a trustee of QCCA between June 2016 and January 2020.
During her legal studies, she served as president of QMBC and vice-president of QM ABACUS, undertook pro bono work with Barnet Law Service and Queen Mary Legal Advice Centre and received the Old Square Chambers Prize and the Field Fisher Waterhouse Prize.
